Coral Tooth or Hericium Coralloides is one of the four types of Hericiums found in North America. It is also widely distributed in Europe, growing in India, Russia, China and Japan. In China, it is highly valued for its medicinal properties and is widely consumed. Like all other types of Hericium, it contains a compound called “erinacines” which is increasingly being studied for it’s neuroprotective effects and has shown potential in treating Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
